The thinking, the standards, and the culture behind every project
Jarenz Castillo graduated from UC San Diego with degrees in both science and the arts. It was his best friend who suggested he start his own agency. So he did, and Wisper Studios launched early in 2025. A few months later, Jarenz reconnected with a previous colleague, Tommy Wang, who had spent time at two agencies doing UX research and design. He’s interested in people, how they think, what they need, and how that ties into the systems built around them. His edge is connection, and it shows.
What drives them as a team runs deeper than deliverables. They don't push pixels to just make things look good, they use design to do good too. They have a clear point of view, a lot of hunger, and the belief that brilliant design delivers the most value when it is beautiful, hard-working, and simple.
Most studios build around the brief. The Wisper team digs until they find the feeling, then they bring it to life across branding, websites, apps, and social. They're obsessed with vibes, and not shallowly. They truly believe every brand has a feeling underneath it, and that finding it is half the job. If you don't know your vibe yet, they'll help you figure it out.
Their values are just as direct. Fill others' cups without emptying your own. Keep an open heart, not just an open mind. Stay authentic because your intentions surface, eventually. They bring the same relentless attention to their craft that you'd expect from the best agencies in the world, and they turn it toward work that genuinely matters.
Oh, and if you want to get to know them properly, they'd rather do it over a good meal.
Unusual helps talented teams become buyer-ready through operational support and, if appropriate, access to capital. So, good founders have the space to do their best work.
The Unusual collective covers agencies in the UK, the US and beyond. If you run an agency and you're curious about what that looks like, get in touch.
Welcome to the collective, Jarenz and Tommy.
